Windows Media Files

Playing Windows Media Files

Windows Media Files (File extentions .MP3, .WAV, .MIDI, .WMV, .MPG, .MPEG, .ASF, etc.) are viewed with Multi-Browser XP in Browser Windows with embedded Windows Media Player component. These Files can also be bookmarked and open with the Bookmark Archive Tool.

With key F11 you can switch to fullscreen mode of Windows Media Player. With key ESC you can switch back to Multi-Browser XP view mode.

Windows Media File Types can selectively associated with Multi-Browser XP (see Default Browser Configuration). You can also Drag and Drop Windows Media Files onto Multi-Browser XP.

Windows Media Playlists

If you want to Play Media Files one after another you can use Windows Media Playlist Files (extension .WPL). A Playlist is open in one Window by Multi-Browser XP, and all media is played by the embedded Windows Media Player Component. Playlists can contain references to Audio, Video, and Picture files. A Playlist with only references to Picture files results in a Diashow.

Bookmark Folders that contains URLs to Windows Media Files can be exported into Playlists. Just select the Bookmark Folder and choose context menu 'Export -> into Windows Media Playlist File' aus. This menu is only visible if the Bookmark Folder contains Windows Media Files.

Hint: Open a WPL file in Notepad to see its document structure.
